5th Annual Bateman Open Sets New Participation Record

The fifth annual Robert Bateman Open golf tournament brought together alumni, community members, local businesses, and Abbotsford School District staff at Ledgeview Golf Course in support of the Robert Bateman Golf Academy.

Now in its fifth year, the tournament continues to grow in both participation and impact. This year's event welcomed a record 22 teams, making it the largest Bateman Open in tournament history. The event raised approximately $7,000 to support student travel opportunities, equipment purchases, and program enhancements within the Golf Academy.

Teams competed in two divisions. Abbotsford Senior Secondary captured the Abbotsford School District Championship, while the Open Division title was won by the Grad 2007 team.

The Robert Bateman Golf Academy partners with local golf facilities to provide students with opportunities to develop their skills, compete, and pursue pathways in the sport. The annual tournament also gives students valuable experience supporting and participating in a community-based fundraising event.

With record participation and strong community support, the Bateman Open continues to be a highlight of the Golf Academy calendar and an important fundraiser for student opportunities.

The 6th Annual Bateman Open is scheduled for June 14, 2027.
