Help Students Stay Visible During Dark Mornings
October 28, 2026
Dark mornings, rain and fog can make it difficult for school bus drivers to see students waiting at bus stops. Help your child be seen:
- Wait in a clearly visible location and avoid standing behind bushes, trees, poles or other obstructions.
- Wear bright or reflective clothing whenever possible.
- Move or wave as the bus approaches so the driver can easily spot you.
- Use a flashlight or phone light as the bus approaches, especially in very dark conditions.
For younger students waiting in the dark for the first time, parents and guardians are encouraged to help them practise these habits.
